I posted this on another site but heres a review copyed so far after 3 hours of play
You had room problems?Me payne and billy all played this moaring for a few hours togeather and we never had to restart a room.We just had to vote ever 3 races which is annoying for a new race/cars but maybe you joined rooms that peopled closed not long after?
For gameplay i hate and i mean hate.It seems when you toach another car it sends one of you into the wall flying which i find is stupid as you can't beat and bang and have that close of racing, you pretty much have to pass 100% clean to make sure neither of you wreck.Another thing i do not like they have the black box were people join and come in were forza dose and is not at the top of the screen anymore and it covers your car if alot of people come in while your racing which is really stupid i gotta say and it needs to go back to the top of the screen like toca2/3.Another thing i don't like about grid is the host can not kick anyone,You have to get half the room to vote to kick the person out and they can kick the host out if they wanted to as i found out from payne being a ass this moaring.
We found a funny glich also were if you drive backwards and go threw cars some people actully hit but only one of the cars actully gets hurt as billy found out when i drove threw him and i got afew nice words when his car ended up totaled hahahahahahaa
Anyone who plays with payne tip:If you play with him make sure to stay away on the start of the race off the line as theres people who use no traction and they take like a extra 5 secs to get going and payne useally plows into them and makes a big wreck right off the line.I think he totaled about 15 cars total last night from just that.
Handeling:This will make or break the game for people.Onec you get the hang of it its quite fun to play but if you only play it like a hour you'll probelly dislike it as it feels like ur in a drift car.I find the cars spin out really easy which sucks if i must say.I find the game is like ridge racer for the 360/e-brake/spins and like pro street with a mix of toca 3 for the handelin.
For the people who have the bar set high lower your bar as its nothing like the toca series at all besides all the different series you can race.Besides the handelin of the cars this racein game would most likely be 95/100 i gotta say but i'll be able to say more about it tonight when i have a 12 person room of just friends to try it out with as me,billy, payne & korn really could'nt tell what its about with just 4 people.I'm Sure i'm forgetting some stuff but i'll post more later after i put in afew more hours on it.If anyone wants to play whos not on my fl just send me a message as we'll most likely be on this tonight with a full room and i'll send a invite ur way.

Hmmmm
I think I'm gonna have to review my early findings upon further consideration. My first effort was based mostly on being in the BMW on the Euro circuit, which I am finding a whole lot better than the Mustangs.
Let me try and explain. Obviously Coupe will disagree but meh .. Turns out, the more I race, the more I actually realize that the handling of these Mustangs is wayyy to arcadish for my liking. Not knowing the track at all earlier, you only really cruise around checking out the layout and not really pushing the car. So I went online, and promptly watched these three guys just disappear off into the distance like I was standing still .. and I'm like
So I go back offline, low and behold, when you really start to push the car having learnt the track a little better it turns into some form of slot car. Brakes are far too tight and stop you on a dime as if your car weighs nothing, the hand brake is like an anchor and when you combine the two it's unfortunately like racing on a slot track.
Now thats not to say that it won't be fun, but far from my first effort .. I'm now finding it rather annoying to be honest. It won't effect BI at all or real Dirty Dirties that much I guess but it's certainly far from what I had hoped or experienced when your driving how you would normally race. Break at a normal distance etc etc. But when you start to get competitive it becomes very very unrealistic under certain conditions, fun all the same but somewhat disappointing regardless.
Now the BMWs however are a lot more fun on the Jarama circuit. No where near as arcadish I'm finding and the racing is a lot more open. The problem though is when you leave the track it becomes again very arcade like. Going wayyy too deep into a corner, expecting to loose it and hit the wall past the gravel trap, it will only send you a couple of feet into the kitty litter, sure it will slow you down when you short cut it but it stops you dead when you head off track like you just ran into a capture net or something, hardly what I would call realistic or even semi so.
I dunno, I seriously think I jumped the gun on my earlier comments and I apologize for that, but will reserve the right abuse Codemasters for screwing up the handling at a later date. I wonder if we are dealing with an early build or whether this what we can expect.
Sadly I fear not. It may be ok, who knows .. only a real test will prove whether we can enjoy this latest offering.
lol well belive it or not i agree with you on this.I've put in about 6+ hours on this demo now and well over 1000 laps and like you said the faster you get it feels like a slot car with the mustangs as i'm learnin the track better i can hold more turns flat out but i found if you don't drift the turn you pick up alot of speed up and its alot more enjoyable.I just raced with 4 good racers i know online and we actully had some good racing and you can actully beat and bang just gotta at the right times and not at the wrong times because then you go flying but i'm enjoying the demo alot more now.For the BMW like fin said agree there if you go off track the thing just does 360s pretty much i find.Well the BMW's all togeather i find spin way too easy as i take turns slow and still spin. But i'm gonna eat and play some more in abit n probelly have some more to post but befor anyone passes judgement put at least 2-3 hours in on the game because if you only put a hour or less you don't get a real good feel for the handeling because when i started playing the demo i thought i was playing ridge racer 7 and as i'm going i'm likeing it alot more but you all gotta judge the game yourselfs as this will be a 50/50 as you may like it or may not.Just make sure to put the time in befor u pass judgement because you need to get a real feel for it.

i downloaded it, and heres my take, i think they have a good game, but its not for me. it has good graphics for the most part, but the game play is horrible.
waaaaay too arcade like. the cars handle like ridge racer. you can throw the car anyway you want.
it feels like need for speed. it would be a good addition to need for speed, so it makes me wonder if maybe codemasters picked up some of the "geniuses" at EA games.
may be a good game for people who like arcade racers, but i like games like forza and gran turismo, and GTR, etc....
i will not buy this game, at least not until it hits the 19.99 rack.
all i can say is... wow. what the hell happened.

to answer your "What the hell happened" question, Codemasters werent making enough money off of their more 'sim' ToCA games, and so they decided to go make the game arcadey and 'more fun' to appeal to a wider audience.

i dont know if i would go and rush buying it.
thats the whole problem, the consoles never have any sim racers. im not asking for alot here, just basically toca 3 with more tracks and some more cars, and 360 graphics. how the hell hard is that.
forza had no problem with it.
i bet you sony wont have any problems with GT5, and guess what if it comes down to it, after seeing the car list for that game, im going to be switching to the dark side.

gt5 will be trash, the only one in that series that was any good was #1 and that was even was trash.Only reason i'd actully look at geting a ps3 is for the f1 game as that looks sweet as hell
360 is were its at and trust me i know what its like to be in your place and other places and worse as i've been there alot this year and i'm on the edge of just quitin gamein and thats saying something as i love to game but i'll see how it goes but grid i dunno i think i may rent it to see what its like but deff not geting it with the track list they have its less then forzas :S
The games right now that i have hope for are
Baja- Baja Off-road: Conquer the toughest terrain Mother Nature has to offer in the definitive off-road endurance challenge. Grit and Glory: Overpower hill-climb, circuit, and rally races on the path to Baja supremacy. Supercharged Vehicles: Harness the horsepower of over 40 elite Trophy Trucks, 4x4’s and Buggies across eight varied vehicle classes. Epic Open Worlds: Stunning vistas, sheer cliffs, and towering mountains fill over 100 square miles of drive-to-horizon landscape. Horizontal Racing: Suspension, torque and horsepower are perfectly balanced to create the ultimate edge-of-control racing experience. Customization: Fine-tune the roar of your off-road machine with over 200 authentic vehicle parts. Multiplayer: Power past the competition in 4-player split screen and 8-player online racing.
Pure,Soul Calibur IV,Nascar 09 as from what i've read/saw its looking decent but i'ma rent this to make sure i don't waste money on it and my most wanted right now is Indianapolis 500 Evolution and also Midnight Club: Los Angeles
