well, im getting back into it. got a truck i picked up from ebay the other night. losi XXXT MF2, for 80. and i just bought a speed control. Novak GTB brushless system with 10.5 motor. picked it up for 160. i have a friend of mine, has a servo, high speed metal gear for 30.00 with aluminum case. im going to pick it up.
i have another friend who is getting out of it, he has a XXXTCR and some other stuff, all for cheap.
need batteries, - Lipo packs. radio and reciever, preferably with a spektrum system. needs to be an airtronics M8 or M11. battery charger and power supply. for lipo batteries.
i will possibly expand my operation to a buggy.
i went to a track about 30 minutes from me, where some of my old friends race at, drove a stadium truck, and it was a blast. took me a few laps to knock the rust off, of having not driving one in 3 years.
just need to get in some big races and pick up some sponsors again.

i had an m8 limited edition, before i got out of it. now they have the new one out, called an m11
sells for about 250 new. plus 150 for spektrum receiver and module.
spektrum - is for radio systems, it uses no crystals, so no frequency conflicts and quick reaction. its basically like a cell phone, has its own frequency, automatically finds a channel. infinite possibilities.

just 14 sets. used to have about 100-150 or so, before i sold everything. its easy to have alot of tires. figure at least 6 sets of each style. different compounds, with different foam inserts. then if you grind them, which we used to, clay track you had taper pins that you ground down, and made slicks. then you would spray motor cleaner on them, to get every bit of dirt off, and then put traction compound on. some people would spray them, then light em on fire. softens them up.
you can find those radios for about 50-100 now days. look it up on ebay. when they were new they went for about 250. i had one when i got out of it, and thats why i chose the same style. its easy to use, and has several functions like traction control, ABS, servo speed, throttle delay, lap timer, multi model memory, adjustable throttle curve. etc...

i picked up an M11. got it in part of a package deal we bought, also have a couple lipo packs, but i still have to get ahold of my sponsor to get some new packs.
my truck is just about ready to go. its full assembled, i installed the electronics, i still need to trim the wires, as well as program my speed control. i charged a pack to get everything set up, everything works good, servo speed is insane.
im going to race it this weekend.
still need to find a spektrum receiver, i have a module for the radio, just need a receiver. until then, i have to use a crystal.

i have always liked the losi stuff. i have had losi, associated, etc.. i have had B4's and T4's, and previous generation models as well, actually all associated buggies back to the original RC10. first car i had was a RC10. that is what started it all.
i had a losi xxtcr after i sold the buggy, then i switched back and forth every time a new car would come out. some work better than others at certain tracks. i have had both manufacturers, losi and associated.
my whole career i have raced losi cars and trucks, and i have won countless races and championships with them, so im loyal to them, and i like there cars, i can build one very fast, and could probably build one blind folded. i know how to tune there cars, and i like the engineering and geometry behind them. they handle excellent, and are stable, on the ground and in the air. while the associated stuff tends to feel more nimble, but less stable.
so thats why i choose losi, its just preference mainly. some people like other stuff, i just like there stuff.
