I'd have to buy it, and why would I do that when I get the NFS series for free? Say what you want about it, NFS at least fills the occasional urge to f*ck around an open city

Why would I pay $60+ dollars on Midnight Club, when I get the NFS games for free? As I said earlier, the NFS games are enough to fulfill the occasional urge I get to mess around in an open world game. I dont very often, so its good enough.

need for speed was a sort of open world, if you consider it that. nothing like midnight club.
EA just needs to focus on building madden games. thats all they seem to be good at. they need to stay away from racing games. and they are just annihilating the nascar series.
face it, EA doesnt get it, and they certainly dont give a sh*t about the people that buy there so called half assed half finished display of fail that they can some how manage to sell to mindless idiots as a piss poor idea of a game. the last game i bought from EA was nascar 09. and it will be my last. theres no reason why i should waste 60 dollars of my hard earned money to buy there garbage.

NFS definitely is an open world game, maybe not as big as Midnight Club(dunno, never played it), but it definitely is an open world game. Obviously NFS ProStreet, Shift and previous titles of this type arent, but stuff like Most Wanted, and the majority of the NFS titles definitely are open world.
I think you should rephrase your 2nd paragraph munson and say focus on SPORTS games, not just madden. FIFA is the best soccer game made, and NHL 0_ is the best hockey game made. I'm not sure about the NBA titles though. I believe they also make other sports games that are considered very good.
EA are working on making good titles, and are actually caring about the quality of products they are turning out. The new head honcho actually cares about those things, unlike the previous guy who just wanted games turned out like mad. I personally know this because I go to EA often and personally talk to developers, producers and other people and they are fully aware of the terrible quality their games have been over the past years and are certainly working on improving.

I agree there sports games are alot better then they use to be and i love those and i hate to admit it but nascar was slowly getting better. The only ones i`ve liked since 98 are 05 and 09 but we won`t be seeing any 2010 because they don`t have the rights anymore and needforespeed was never really drive around much
