R/C race 9-12-09

well, here it is. final race of our points series. 5 race series with 1 drop out, finished 2nd overall in the short course class.

this is also the track that i would consider to be home track. closest one for the time being, just dont have alot of time to race on it. it has 2 tracks, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor.

anyways, stock truck - qualified 3rd, finished 2nd. i was running my new truck, switched manufacturers. didnt have time to paint a body, so i was using a borrowed one from my friend. started 3rd, got lucky in the first turn, leaders crashed, i went to the lead. then i tubed it i believe on the next lap in the first turn. anyways, 3 or 4 car battle for the lead all race, seemed like no one wanted to win we were all making mistakes. finished 2nd though. had the lead and then i tubed it. that corner was terrible on depth perception.

short course, qualified 2nd. missed TQ, by .21 of a second. ended up winning it. came back from being 5th at one point in time. i was leading and got taken out in the first turn by the drop off. really crazy battle twords the end.

needs a new body - came with the truck when i got it used. in the video it has a green and white and yellow body, which was my friends. that race was also the first race day it was on the track. thing is F'n dialed.

soon to be added - Tekin RS pro speed controls to both cars. getting rid of the novak GTB in the T4, and the LRP Sphere in the Short course truck. im switching everything, changed the trucks, running only Team associated vehicles now. and i also need 1 more personal transponder.
switching the speed controls out because these tekins, you can program them with your computer. the other ones you have to go through a set program that is calculated by the manufacturer. so its limited. i can literally take my laptop to the track, download a profile to the truck from the laptop, and set my throttle curve and braking curve, and change various things any time i want.

your first truck is that the newest out there or is it older?

they are both the newest ones out. its about time for a new model change as they have been out for around 6 years now. typically they dont release new vehicles until someone comes out with something new and better, and then the other manufacturers feel like they are at a disadvantage.

we have a new track that just opened up about 35 minutes from me. so now there is 2 within 45 minutes. crazy thing about the new one is, that it is a guy we race with that built it. he is leasing a building that is just insanely huge, has a 100x100 or so track in it, offroad, and can be switched to oval for certain days. the building is the biggest building i have ever seen for an rc track. and it can hold 100 plus people in the pits. i think around 130 total. it can hold a national event if needed. and hopefully we can get enough people to pull some strings to make it happen, as there is alot of factory drivers in the area.

finally got my new speed controls, will have them installed to the trucks before the first race at the new track which is october 30th.
