The Above restrictions are not set in stone yet because there may be some adjustments to make.
I have an idea to change the transmission to sport. This is because i have run into a couple cars that have a stock tune able transmission... so i need thoughts on this from the racers.
Thanks Pharmar

My thoughts are; with final drive tuning gear box we will all likely be competitive at different tracks. ( example; Tsukuba vs Le Sarthe) Otherwise some cars will smoke at le sarthe and others will be hitting rev limiter all down the straight. Some might say that would make the league more interesting, perhaps.
I dont agree with outlawing certain cars if that said car meets all the requirements for gear box rules, i.e. stock gears that just happen to be final drive tunable.
It would be a shame to outlaw certain cars that actually make the build requirements and downright draconian.

Pharmar, have you decided on qualy format?
You mentioned that you were thinking about a 20 minute qualy session. There are some things to consider.
#1 You cannot tune or tweak your car during a 20 min. timed race, there is no practice session because this is not a sim like race pro. Once you have started the session that is what you have to run for 20 minutes.
#2 late players and disconnected players cannot rejoin the session because, again, this is not a sim or practice session. So once the session begins you better be in it.
#3 If you miscalculate a turn and hit a wall, then you have aero damage that cannot be repaired, so your stuck in the session with aero damage and no way to compensate for damage tuning. Obviously you dont want to hit a wall but in qualy your trying to turn a balls out lap.
#4 It appears that we will be having timed called starts with a 20 min session because we need to get the racers lined up in order. These starts never seem to shake out very well. Someone seems to always be jumping starts. I suppose that maybe 1 way to kind of prevent this is have a rolling start but that leads to a ton of problems also. Perhaps, the only solution would be random standing starts as provided by forza.
Just some thoughts, I would love to hear some input on this matter from everyone.

You are correct. If there is no tuning than it all has to be done at that time, for qualy starts or people disconnecting it isnt fair to those people. i agree, i would also like to hear some ideas.
we might have to change the qualifying all together and just do a 2 lap qualifier, like previous forza leagues.
Open to all idea's on how it should be setup.

So the season will be starting January 3rd. Sunday. As for the time, i would like to see everyone on and in a room between 7:30 pm est. and 8:00pm, qualifying will start at exactly 8 (so its hopefully done by 8:30 and cant start the race before 9). The qualifying still has yet to be decided, i think im gonna do a time set (like race pro) run 20 minutes. Now because you cant join in the middle of the race IE if your late/disconnect i might try to allow a 3 lap race just for those people. Some might say if your late than thats your fault its a competition but its also for fun.
Please if you have anything to add than post!

Pharmar, I just found out earlier tonight that you can space the starts at 1 second intravals. This I think is the perfect answer to being able to run sim damage and tires and fuel. Some people might say that starting eighth you would be 8 seconds back, to this I say #1 youre already gonna be about 6 seconds back on a regular start and #2 dont qualify 8th.
I think this is the single greatest improvment from the second game, LOVE IT.

Something else Bounty came up with was; What are you going to do about the triangle of death in qualy laps?

Whenever you run a lap in forza, you are timed, if you touch a rumble wrong or go off track or cut a corner in the slightest amount you get the triangle of Zintar, lol.
Now, on the leader boards the triangle is heavily penalized, I,m not sure how much but at least 4 seconds. So Bounty and I were wondering what you were going to do about the triangle in qualy.

if you are in the same room as someone it shouldnt matter as your true time is visible to them. just like forza 2. but i may be incorrect. we will have to see. i had thought about that as well, but i figured like what im thinking so i figured it wouldnt be an issue. anyone know for sure? ?

Yes, this is a problem. When your race ends and your in the loading screen before the lobby it shows your fastest time, but your fastest could have the triangle. If you run one clean lap then that lap will be posted. But say in qualy you only run 1 or 2 laps with the triangle then that will be the fastest posted. Or, say you run all your laps with a triangle then that fast lap will still not be legit. The triangle is not visible.
A fellow player in your room cannot see if you have the triangle or not, that would have to be on a honor system. Obviously you want to run all 20 mins. because your fuel load will come off and you will be fastest at the end with very little tire wear. In my case, I only wear the tires at about 1% per lap. So in a 20 min qualy I'll have about 10% tire wear and about half a tank.
Just not worrying about the triangle and just counting the fast lap also is a problem. This would bring drafting and teammate helping into play.
I'm not sure of the solution, but this is an issue we need to resolve. Perhaps, the standard 2 lap qualy process might help all of this?

Pharmar and Eddy: These are the settings for our qualy session-
Score type-TIMEBASED
Compare best lap-YES
Ending Condition-TIME
Race Length- 22.00 or 23.00 extra time needed to record players fast lap. I'm just going to have everyone stop right at the 20 min mark.
When we do time based and not laps,
then people will not race back to the checkered flag so that they will keep their forza ranking. This way the person with the fastest time will win.
I'm also doing the 5 second interval because we are going to see other racers at this track because of the difference in times I have seen so far.
