360 #7 stopped reading disks today, so off to the repair centre for it. Worked fine yesterday, then when I turned it on today and I went to My XBOX to start up NHL, it just said Open Tray. I opened the tray, and NHL 10 was still in there, so I closed the tray again, it said Reading for a while, then went back to Open Tray. I tried other games and DVDs and it was the same story for everything. Called up M$ support and setup a free repair. My warranty expires on Feb 17th, today is Jan 17th, so I am exactly 1 month away from the expiry. Very lucky on that. Heres hoping my replacement is a newer console, with HDMI, that doesn't suck ass.

I've been convince to go buy an XBOX 360 Super Elite<<LINK (Forza bundle) My friends dont want me offline for a couple weeks since we play so much online NHL together it would be a big blow, and would get very boring. He convinced me that although its $399.99, selling Forza 3(since I already own it) both controllers(or at least 1) the refurbished 360+20GB HDD when it comes back will re-coup a good chunk of the cost. Also, theres no way my 20GB HDD will last until the end of the 360s life(I'm at 3GB left, and I can bring it up to about 4GB) so getting a 250GB HDD will be awesome. I really do need it. Plus it'll guarantee an HDMI enabled console + brand new chipset + reset warranty. |

I hear ya Payne, My first box got the RROD then I swithced out the laser with one I already had it worked fine until recently so I think Im going to upgrade myself!
Thats 3 M$ wheels and 2 consoles so far!

with the money youve pissed away on 3 M$ wheels you could've bought a FANATEC Porsche 911 Turbo S Wheel. This new console has been pretty awesome. Its not as quiet as I had believed the new consoles were which is disappointing, but it doesn't seem to get hot which is awesome. The console I just sent in for repairs used to be like a hair dryer blowing out the black, it was insane. This one is manufactured on 2009-09-09. I was hoping to get a newer one, but I didn't get to pick, the guy just went to the back of the store and picked the one on the top of the pile(presumably lol) They dont keep them in the store for obvious security reasons. The DVD drive shoots out like a bullet. It honestly scared me the first time I opened it. All my old consoles were incredibly slow on opening, this one is BAM! Open. BAM! Closed. OMG I am loving HDMI! I was on VGA before(because it was an older console so no HDMI port), so although I was in 1080p, it was a bit washed out, and just not as clear. When I went to the PS3 on HDMI, I could clearly see the difference. This on HDMI now is amazing. I definitely much preferred the white console, but I am getting used to the black. I just absolutely loved the white console with my Canada faceplate, it looked amazing. The black console doesn't look so good with the Canada faceplate on it  I just have the plain black faceplate on atm..very boring. |

Yep Im thinking of getting a new console, but I might just use the money and start building a new PC for racing(Iracing). CHeap ass M$ I think already has enough of my money lol..
Oh yeh and HDMI is Freakin sweet...

I have a couple friends that play iRacing, 1 of which basically plays nothing but iRacing. He just uses his 360 atm to chat lol. iRacing doesn't sound very fun. From what I hear from my friends everybody takes everything so insanely seriously theres no fun to be had. Its beyond hardcore racing simulator. Its a way of life. I'll get it at some point in the new future, for at least 1 month just to check it out. I'm not a fan of the monthly subscription fee PLUS paying for everything in game... You think M$ has enough of your money, just wait and see how far your buck goes on iRacing.

Yes very true Iracing can be very expensive and its hardcore but it looks amazing and Ive heard very positive reviews of it plus they just got the Williams F1 contract and they are adding more Euro circuits(Zandvroot).
THey also lowered the price this year, it will be awhile before I get it b/c atm I dont have PC that can run it the way I want!
The way its set up is perfect for me with races every hour on the hour and so on...
