Activision developing new NASCAR video game? Last September, EA Sports president Peter Moore confirmed to GameSpot that Electronic Arts was letting its long-held NASCAR license lapse. Today, game-industry site Gamasutra cites "sources close to the situation" that EA's archrival, Activision, will publish the next installment in the series. The report was also backed up by a less reliable outlet--a post on the EA Sports forums. Poster N0Fear88, a two-year veteran of the site, claims another "inside source" at NASCAR said the title was in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii, and would be released two weeks before next February's Dayton 500. In late August, British developer Eutechnyx, the studio behind the racing games Ferrari Challenge and Big Mutha Truckers, accidentally tipped its hand by posting the forums for NASCAR 2011. (The Google cache showing the page can be found here) It is unclear at which of Eutechnyx's four studios the game will be developed. The Gateshead, UK-based shop also has operations in Pittsburgh, Pensylvannia as well as Chengdu and Hong Kong in China. Activision reps had not yet responded to comment as of press time.(GameSpot)(9-24-2010) If this is true this will be a horrable game just saying.

EA Nascar was good other than the lag crap but if any race game comes out with great physics, then i'm all for it. If the physics aren't there , then it's wasting yer money...

Ive been reading into this alot today, The devs of this game are definitely trying to get this game right, from what ive heard and read, the physics are going to be spot on. They are even putting it a system that lays rubber down on the racing groves to improve track conditions as the race goes on. UNFORTUNATELY, the online play will be very limited. The devs are only focusing on the Sprint Cup Series so there will be no Truck or Nationwide Series. They are looking into the options for later versions of the game but for now Sprint Cup is the only feature. Its seems they are taking the necessary steps to get this game right however I dont think this game will reach its full potential for a year or 2. There is no practice mode or qualifying for online play either. You can set the race starting grid by random, skill rank, previous race fastest time, or one other but i cant remember. I would hope they will come out with a demo but I doubt it since this game is supposed to be out by March 29th. They have addressed the lag issue since EA constantly failed to provide a decent server. So I feel the lag system will be fixed as far as I can tell from the reading. I will be giving this game a chance but I definitely hope they come out with a demo.
