i just dont know about this... it seems like it would be alright i just wanna know if its gonna be an arcade racer game or a sim racing game... cuz with a downhill jump course like that it seems like it would be odd to do in a sim racing game... but thats just me.... i will probably get it just cuz codemasters hasnt disapointed me yet with any racing game so when i get it ill let you know coupe

GRID is a full 100% Arcade racer as personally said by Codies themselves.
I think Im going to use my trade in credit I got from trading in games I got for free from EA to get this so I dont have to technically pay for it..
"Racedriver: GRID demo planned for the start of May
Chief lead designer confirms no lead platform, 360/PS3 differences "will be negligible".
A demo for upcoming driving game Racedriver: GRID is planned for the start of May, VideoGamer.com has learned.
Codemasters' latest in the popular driving series is expected sometime in the summer on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Nintendo DS.
Speaking in an interview with VideoGamer.com, chief games designer Ralph Fulton also revealed that there is no lead platform for the game and that the new EGO engine has meant "there is no significant difference" between the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
He said: "EGO is a multi-platform engine which has been designed to make developing on all three platforms as simple as possible. We don't have a lead platform, and the differences between the consoles will be pretty negligible.""

they have the Le Mans series in the game, which is cool. For the career mode, the Le Mans series race(s?) will last for 24 mins. You can choose to do a full 24 hour race in the free run mode or something though. Theres still no pit stops though which is just like WTF!?!? A 24 hour race with no pit stops!?!?!? Obviously since the game has no pit stops, it will mean there is no damage. From watching videos you can clearly see that cars can be physically damaged, so what I assume is that you can wreck your car physically, but you will either just reset, or just continue on like nothing ever happened...

new GAMEPLAY footage of Dirt. UH...I mean, Grid. (you'll understand after watching the video) www.g4tv.com/xplay/previews/20907/Hands_On_Grid.htmlI honestly thought I was watching video of Dirt. Which from the graphics point of view, is fantastic news. However, from the more important point of view, that being physics and handling, it isnt such good news.

There is 2 new gameplay footage videos of GRID. One of them is showing the drifting, and the other one I think was some BMW racing on some track, however I might just be confusing myself with the other video from G4..The 2 videos might simply be the Drift race, and the replay camera of the Drift race... I dont remember where I watched the videos, so your on your own to find them. They are available on the GIRD website(racedrivergrid.com) in the Downloads section, however the new videos dont work for me, I keep getting an Error message, along with a lot of other people. So dont know what the problem is there, you can give it a shot though. I did manage to watch the 2 videos, but I dont remember where I saw them.. You can tell from the video of the BMW that the physics in the game are completely identicle to those of DIRT, so the annoying instant, no wheel spin start, and instant dead stop when touching the brakes will unfortunately be a part of the game..That was my main complaint about the physics in DiRT, apart from that, they werent all that bad. So if you can find the videos, or get them to work on the Codies site, enjoy. If not, tough luck.

finally read some good news about GRID from RFT
"GRID's brakes aren't quite as strong as in DIRT on the cars I've driven, but brake effectiveness will change from car to car, naturally."
"On the hardest difficulties, trash the car and that's it, there's no restarts once the flag drops. lower difficlties will be more lenient."

I finally found a place where you can watch the latest two videos. You can either stream them, or download them. gamersyde.com/news_6239_en.htmlRFT commented on the 2nd video saying that the driver in the video was the best driver in their QA department, and so it looks easier then it really is.(thats referring to the Drifting video if you dont understand...)
