Forza Motorsport Winter Scoreboard Challenge
It's time to announce the Forza Motorsport Winter Scoreboard Challenge! The Forza Team is running a contest looking for the fastest hotlap racers. The competition begins once the Scoreboards have been cleared and reset on Thursday, December 15th and runs through 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on Wednesday, February 15th. The GamerTags of the leaders at the top of each of the six Class Hotlap Scoreboards -- D, C, B, A, S, and R -- at that time will be announced on the Forza Community site, and each winner will receive a Forza prize package including a Forza jacket, a copy of the game autographed by the Forza Team, and more! (One award per person; see Official Rules for details.)
To be involved in this contest, participants must have access to Forza Motorsport, an Xbox, and a connection to Xbox Live. All participants must also be in good standing on the Xbox Live service. All six qualified winners will be recognized on the Forza Community website, but prizes will only be awarded to residents of the United States (void in MD, VT, and where prohibited by law) who have opted-in to allow Microsoft permission to contact them directly. Official Rules
1. Contest Description
The Xbox Live Forza Motorsport (the "Contest”) is a live skill based contest in which Players compete against each other to obtain the fastest lap time on the Xbox Live Forza Motorsport leaderboard. Prizes will be awarded as set forth below.
2. Eligibility
Only Players who are residents of the 50 United States (includes D. of C.) and who have opted-in to receive communications from Microsoft about this Contest at the time of entry may compete for prizes. Non-US players and players who have not opted-in to receive communications from Microsoft about this Contest may compete for bragging rights on the leaderboard, but will not qualify for prizes. Void in MD, VT and where prohibited by law. Players must have access to a Microsoft Xbox video game system (or Xbox 360 video game system that is able to play the Forza Motorsport game title), the Xbox game title Forza Motorsport, a valid Xbox Live account, and must be in good standing on xbox.com and the Xbox Live service ("Players").
Those that meet the eligibility requirements set forth above are eligible to participate and may register as set forth below (section 3). Employees of Microsoft Corporation and members of their immediate families (defined for purposes of these rules as husband, wife, mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, or other persons residing in the household of such employees), their subsidiaries and affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, or any person working on the product, project, or promotion or others providing services to Microsoft in connection with this Contest are not eligible to participate.
3. Registration/Qualifying
Microsoft will contact all winners for prize distribution. All winners agree to be contacted for the sole purpose of this Contest. We reserve the right to verify all eligibility (as stated in section 2) even after the Contest is complete. If you want your times to be considered for prizes in the Contest, you must opt in to be contacted by Microsoft. You can review and update your "opt in" status through the following steps.

Players are solely responsible for keeping their Xbox Live account information up to date for all information pertaining to Registration/Qualifying for any Contest. 4. How to Play
Contest play begins on December 14th, 2005 (after the Forza Motorsport Scoreboards have been reset) and ends on January 31st, 2006. (“Entry Period”).
At approximately, 5 PM PST on February 15th, 2006, the leaders of the Forza Motorsport Scoreboard will be recorded, and the eligible Player with the fastest overall time for each car class who has registered to win prizes will win the prize described below. The overall time is calculated as an average of all the individual track leaderboards, by class.
Limit one prize per Player. In the event that a Player qualifies in multiple car classes, they will be considered the winner in the first qualified class as follows: D, C, B, A, S, and R. Once the winner has been determined, the other classes will be reconciled accordingly.
Please note: there may be ineligible Players ranked on the leaderboard (for example, because they have already won a prize and cannot win two). In that event, the next highest ranked eligible Player will be determined the winner.
5. Winner notification / Prizes
On or around February 16th, 2006 winners (1 for each car class) will be notified via email and/or phone, and they must respond affirmatively to claim the following prize:

6. Code of Conduct
Any Player competing in an unsportsmanlike manner or in a manner that is not in compliance with these rules or the xbox.com or Xbox Live Terms of Use may be immediately disqualified from the Contest and may be disqualified from competing in any future xbox.com or Xbox Live events. Unsportsmanlike conduct includes, but is not limited to, the following violations:
Unsportsmanlike conduct (gameplay)
Cheating of any sort through various means
Continuous pauses during the gameplay
Delaying or slowing gameplay using various tactics
Intentionally disconnecting the network cable
Intentionally interrupting network connectivity
Using any type of modified teams
Using any type of modified Xbox
Any other known or unknown way of tampering with gameplay
Any applicable tax on a prize is the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution or transfer of a prize is permitted except at the sole discretion of Sponsor. If a winner cannot or will not accept a prize, prize will be forfeited and awarded to the next highest ranked competitor. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if entire prize or a portion of the prize is unavailable.
7. Conduct
By entering the Contest, Players agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by any other xbox.com and Xbox Live terms and conditions referenced in the rules. The Official Rules will be posted at the xbox.com site throughout the Context. Players further agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges and the Contest Commissioner, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Microsoft reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify an individual it finds to be tampering with the type, process, or operation of the game or Web site, to be acting in violation of the Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PLAYER OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAMES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, MICROSOFT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
8. Limitations of Liability
TO THE EXTENT THAT ANY PLAYER IS REQUIRED TO DOWNLOAD ANY SOFTWARE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SECTION SHALL APPLY. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, COPYING OR REPRODUCTION OF THE SOFTWARE TO ANY OTHER SERVER OR LOCATION FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION OR REDISTRIBUTION IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED. THE SOFTWARE IS WARRANTED, IF AT ALL, ONLY ACCORDING TO THE TERMS OF THE APPLICABLE END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT. 9. General Conditions
The conduct of this Contest and the interpretation and enforcement of these Official Rules is governed by the laws of the United States. In the Contest that any dispute arises regarding the Contest, Players agree that the dispute shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington without regard to conflicts of law provisions and that such disputes shall be resolved within and by the courts of that state. All federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations apply. Prizewinners may be required to execute Affidavits of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Releases within 2 days of winner determination. Non-compliance within this time period may result in disqualification and an alternate winner being selected. In the Contest that a winner is determined to be ineligible, a special playoff Round will be conducted among those Players who competed in the final Round of the Contest to determine a winner. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner in accordance with the same procedure outlined above. All winners and Players grant Microsoft the right to publish, online and in print, their Gamertag, names, likenesses, city of residence, and the name of the state in which they live, without compensation. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Microsoft and their advertising and promotional agencies to use winner's names, city of residence, and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.

Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Microsoft and their advertising and promotional agencies to use winner's names, city of residence, and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
By entering, Players release and hold harmless Microsoft and any respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, including but not limited to, personal injury or death, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won.

The gamertags of the winners will be posted on the Forza Motorsport Community website immediately after the conclusion of the Contest.
