Over the weekend, we got about a dozen tips sent into our graciously accomodating tips box with info on xbox 360 Arcade console spottings. A couple of you even sent in pics (thanks, guys!). Next door ar Engadget, a tipster snatched up one of the yet-to-be-announced (but expected to be released on Oct. 23) consoles and snapped pics of the contents. What's notable: a 256MB Memory Unit, a wireless controller, HDMI port, and a disc that includes five Xbox Live Arcade trial games: Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship, and Uno.

What's not included: An Xbox Live headset, an ethernet cable, an HDMI cable, high-def component cables (the Arcade is composite only we're afraid) ... oh, and the full version of the above listed trial games. Though Amazon listed a $279.99 price point, the tipster reports a price more like $299. Now all we need is a press release acknowledging this thing exists so we can double check that price.

[Update: Looks like there's some confusion over whether or not the above games are in fact full games or simply trials. The box lists the five games and says: "Plus Five Trial Games!" Is that "You get the console, the peripherals, plus these five trial games!" or "You get these five full Xbox Live Arcade games plus five totally separate trial games that aren't listed on this box anywhere so as to make this a confusing piece of marketing!"

Your guess is as good as ours (see Microsoft, a press release would've really helped out here) but we're trying to get an answer for you guys. Sit tight.]

BBFC submission reveals contents of Xbox Live Arcade Compilation disc

British Board of Film Classification For those of us who enjoy the arcade gaming goodness that Xbox Live Arcade gives us (all for a nominal fee), here's some very good news: it seems that a compilation disc is in the works, as revealed by a submission of Microsoft to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

Whether this is actually the same disc that comes bundled with the Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade SKU, we're not really sure yet, but with the contents matching that of the SKU's list of bundled games, there's a good chance it could be.

Microsoft's submission to the BBFC also reveals a very exciting fact: Viva Pinata is included in the list of titles playable in the disc itself. Of course, while this can mean that it's not the actual full game, the last two items on the list seem to be for the trailers, seeing as they have timecodes - just the same as the welcome video at the very top. Until we do get our hands on the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU itself (or the disc itself), we'll just have to take solace in the fact that the other titles in the list are great games in their own right.

Not only Viva Pinata, but Surf's Up also seems like a fully-playable title. Of course, we're wondering just how they could fit two full games (including the other titles) in just one disc, but it's definitely a great bonus as far as freebies are concerned.

yup, all that for $280(that would be in USD aswell. So technically should be even less here in Canada but you know it wont lol) Im imagining a $299 CDN price point on this puppy.
