best in the world.
had one for like 5 years. actually like 2 or 3. all M8 radios. i had a normal one a few years after i started then i sold it to my friend. still works great.
sold that one and i picked up a limited edition, backlit one that was all black. used that one till i stopped racing.
now they have the M11 out, ive never used one, but i hear they are awesome.
if you ever get one get a spektrum setup for it. no crystals, this thing finds its own channel each time you turn it on, no interference at all, and you dont have an antenna,
the reciever for the car is smaller and the antenna on it can be like 3 inches out of the car. you can cut the antenna, they tell you to. normal antennas are like 10 inches. like a flag pole stickin out of your car.

all those pictures were before i had the spektrum setup or you would see what i mean by having basically no antenna

yeah those pics are normally at the end of the day, the ones on the stand are before the main races. tryin to stay as focused as possible. i'll have to get a picture together of all the sh*t ive won.
its like numerous plaques and trophies. it was really hard for me to sell one of the cars i had.
i got a story for yall
2004, MARS series race 5 final race i was 3rd in points for modified 2wd buggy going into the last race like 12 points back
i was 2nd in stock 2 wd buggy going into the last race like 4 points back
anyways, qualified 1st in stock for the A main, finished 1st, with like a 8 second lead. it took id say around 35 seconds or so to get around the track, it was a big mother. i won that championship for that series by 2 points because the other guys i was battling with finished like 3rd and 5th, i used the same buggy from stock to modified races just swapped the motor out.
in the modified race, i was 12 pts back, i qualified 1st, finished 1st. i came 2 seconds from lapping the 2nd place car. if i had 1 more lap i wouldve lapped him. and in a 5 minute race, to lap the field on a 30 second track is big with the caliber of drivers i was racing with. but, the further back you finish the worse you get for points, so i was driving my ass off. trying to make up as much ground as possible, these guys man one was in the b main, he was 1st in points i was 3rd in points, so he was screwed, b main i like 10 points back from 1st in the A main. but the dude i almost lapped was 2nd in points,
so total up the points, i won the series by .01 points. closest ever. f*cking crazy. i was ecstatic. that year i won 3 championships 2 in buggy 1 in mod truck and i took second in stock truck. lost that by .5 of a point.
I built the buggy i raced out of scrap parts. i had a setup from my buddies car that was an XXX. i drove it and loved it, so i took his setup, well this was when the new XXX BK2 came out and everyone was racing it. except me. i made a car with his setup on it old style car XXX with a graphite chassis, but i put on BK2 components on it, so it was fully adjustable. old cars normally dont win races like that. The damn thing was dialed. you have no idea how hard it was for me to sell that car. those championships i had waited my whole racing career to get, and it took me 3 years in that series to finally win them.
people were in shock that i had beat them with an outdated car. i was in shock.

i wish i still had them, but man its hard as hell to keep up in that hobby.
new batteries every 6 months or so. not that i buy them but they come out with them.
when i was racing we had 3300 nmh batts, within a year they had 3800, then 4200 packs. sh*t gets expensive. and now there is lipo packs. motors werent a big issue becasue we tuned them the way we want, but electronics, just like that spektrum, it was a must if you go to a big race. 2 people on the track at once, that means 20 channels are taken, and when you have 68-90 there tends to be problems. with glitching and with people that have the same channel,
but the other big thing was with speed controls. we had quantum 2 speedos and they had a novak GTX out, and people were using it, it was faster, then the quantum was faster, and so on and so on. 2 companies just kept upgrading and making them smaller and lighter. it gets crazy. and when they are 160 bucks a pop. and you have 3 vehicles, it tends to be a problem. batteries were 90 dollars usually. i got em for 50 with my sponsor, and motors were like 10 bucks. even with a sponsorship it was getting out of hand.

around here you couldnt do that normally. everyone at our shop that races like top 5 are guys that dump boocoo amounts of money in the sh*t. and now since last year our track was onroad. so it gets even more expensive. 400+ for a good chassis. plus electronics you lookin 1000+ total

Its called ebay. You get stuff cheap and you get extra stuff off there for super cheap and sell it to the guys n it pays for your racing.Thats how i got by racing.

yeah i know cause i race Nastruck/Nascar/off road buggy.I have a tone of sh*t n know it ain't cheap but yeah. What we did was buy stuff on ebay n clean it up n it payed for our racing.Just because everone eles has it does not mean you have to have it.What works works.I rember last year someone went to the world nationals n won with a 20 year old car.You go at your own pace.If you can't afford it then just run what you have n save up n just wait for the next upgrade

lol, ya i guess you could do that. but you can tell when you do disassembly procedure to them, how much wear everything has. like if a component on a losi car has the word graphite which is written in white worn off of it, its worn out normally, or with gears if they have alot of lash, and are angled on the teeth
