for offroad
custom paint jobs run 30-70 dollars, plus 20 - 30 for a body, chassis runs 230.00 for a good vehicle which is already a loaded chassis, with graphite, its a racing setup. , plus 30 in titanium upgrades, plus 30 or so for aluminum stuff, so figure in 280 or so for a rolling chassis. speed controls run 50-170 dollars servo runs 20-120 dollars, 20 for a plastic gear low speed, 120 for a ball bearing metal gear high speed servo. motor runs about 25-35 for a stock motor 24 turn - high performance racing setup. up to 75 for a modified ball bearing down to a 7 turn which is retarded fast radio gear- 100 - 300 for a transmitter, 30 - 70 for a receiver, 30 - 70 for a module battery runs about 20 - 89.00 dollars per one pack battery charger - runs about 20 - 600 dollars tires run 20 for a set, x2 for 4 total.
onroad stuff bodies run 20+ dollars depending on what you want plus paint job which can be like 50 bucks chassis runs from 199 - 400 dollars depending on what you want, oval or touring car, plus upgrades, with carbon fiber and aluminum. tires run 25.00 or so, and oval is more because you run 3 different tires on it. one compound in the left front, one compound in the right front, and one compound x 2 tires in the rear
add in all the other stuff for electronics, on road is more expensive than offroad and the tires wear twice as fast, if you plan on being fast, you have to cut them down and also you have to have a tire truer, to machine the tires down. which runs 150- 300 dollars and a tweak board if you run touring car. which runs 80 dollars

Like do you want to race pan cars like mine? is that an associated L4 "o" ?? used to have one of them, my god hop ups are so expensive. aluminum pods, aluminum screws, so many modifications to be made to oval chassis, just to make them fast, alot of time and alot of f*ckin money

curro
your best bet is to go to a hobby shop, dont know where your located, which state city etc
for limited money and you want to have fun- and have a potential to upgrade the vehicle, go on ebay, or go to a hobby shop they have new and used stuff
i recommend, Losi XXX series vehicles for offroad and they have ready to run kits for dirt cheap XXXT for trucks and XXX for buggies
or a Asscoiated T4 or a B4 t being truck and B being buggy both the associated and losi vehicles come in ready to run kits, or you can buy full racing chassis, rollers
any of those kits will run you about 200 dollars but it comes ready to run out of the box, all you do is charge it up and go run it.
or another alternative is a traxxas. i dont recommend them but you can run it i guess. i wouldnt waste my money on it, and for 60 bucks more the losi or associated vehicles are 100X better
